I came across a previously unreleased version of the Beatles’ Revolution 1 Take 20 (10 minutes long!) on Buzzfeed today.  The first half of the song is a lackadaisical and listless, yet entrancing, enterprise.  The last 60 seconds are like the interlude on a random Beastie Boys track (think anything towards the end of Hello Nasty).

Listen here.

From Take 20 came “Revolution 1” (White Album, not single) and “Revolution 9”.

There’s debate about whether it is a real Beatles take, but most in the know seem to think it is. I like it, personally.
